Filling out layers for band mascot. Might start posting more updates on studio website than on Instagram. I’m starting off more plain before venturing off to more hardcore extreme as requested by band. This will be my “Before”.

I was asked to help design the logo for a new alternative rock band in the DFW area. I used cut out letters stereotypically used in ransom letters and added some texture and grunge. I decided to incorporate 3 scavenging vultures (3 band members) on the logo, on “ill”.

I wanted to experiment with dry textures and pencil brushes with Procreate. As I started to play around with the textures it started to look like giant waves crashing onto the blades of grass. So the insect started to look like it was holding on to for dear life, so I turned it into a lightning bug, so it could be a lighthouse for anyone else lost. Just having fun drawing and experimenting.
